We all dream of a wonderful life… A happy one with security, family, friends, and freedom to do what we want when we want.
Achieving these goals can be tricky if you don’t have a system in place.
What do you want out of life?
Clarify Your Vision: Sit down and write out your dreams, aspirations, and goals. Be as specific as possible. Your dreams should get you excited, motivate you and inspire you to move forward.
What are you passionate about?
What is your passion? When you are doing what you love then life is more fun and fulfilling.
Could you make a living with your passion?
Is there a way to make money from your passion? If not, then what do you need to do to get the money taken care of so you can pursue your passion?
You have to figure out what your end goal is so you can give yourself direction.
Clarify your Goals: Using SMART goals will help you stay on track and track your progress along the way.
“SMART” goals are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and timely.
You cannot reach a finish line if you don’t know where it is. So decide what you want to achieve and be very specific.
Once you specify your goals you’ll then need to break them down into smaller actionable steps. Small steps will help you keep track of your progress and to stay motivated.
Each goal needs to be measurable so you know when to move on to your next step. This makes seeing your progress easier. As you see your progress it will keep you motivated to continue your journey.
Be realistic with your goals. Don’t set yourself up to fail by setting a goal that is not attainable.
Early on too many failures can make it hard to continue. It can deflate you and you may begin to feel like your goals are not realistic. So make sure the goals are possible for the timeframe you’ve set for yourself.
If a goal takes you off track then you are just wasting your time.
Make sure your goals are relevant to your overall vision. If you can get there without doing that step, maybe you should consider cutting that step out of your plan.
Every goal needs an end date or achievement date.
If your goal is: “Make $1000 per day.” Your brain is left asking how, why, when, and what for. So be specific about what you want and when you want it.
Clarify your plan: If you think it will take you 2 years to achieve your goal, then start at the end and work backward. Begin by identifying the major milestones in your plan. Then break these down into smaller steps.
Continue breaking each step down until you can’t break it down any further. The smaller the step the more likely you are to achieve it.
When getting started try to set goals that can be done in a few hours. This allows you to build a “success momentum” early on.
Success is crucial, especially in the beginning.
Clarify daily action: Each morning look at your goals and verify you’re on track. If you fall behind or get off track don’t fret. Get back on the horse and keep going.
Be kind to yourself and allow for delays.
Life gets in the way sometimes. Move on and get back on the road to your dreams.
Determine your next step and what action you need to take. Then get busy and remember that making even a little progress is better than doing nothing.
Perfection can also be your enemy.
If you wait for everything to be perfect you may never achieve your goals. Do a good job and keep moving forward every day.
Find daily motivation and focus: Keep your goals in front of you all the time. Use post-it notes or images on your desk to remind you of what you’re doing and why.
Celebrate your wins. When you achieve a milestone reward yourself with something. In the beginning, rewards can be anything from a hot bath to a night out. Be creative and have fun.
If you have a setback use it to learn and grow. Consider keeping a journal to help you track your growth and progress.
Seek out successful people who will support you in achieving your goals. Look for opportunities to educate yourself. Look for resources and tools that can help you succeed.
Achieving your dreams requires patience, persistence, and a willingness to learn and grow. But with the right mindset and approach, you can live a fulfilling and satisfying life.
Remember: Life is a journey, not a destination.
Now get busy!
